  • The Adizez family has lived in Pristina for at least over 100 years, which has belonged to the Kingdom of Yugoslavia since World War I; possibly the family originates from Spain, from where many Jews fled to the Balkans in the 16th century before the Inquisition.
    1941 Attack of Nazi Germany on Yugoslavia. Surrender of Yugoslavia (April 17). The country is divided among five neighboring states.

    1942 By order of the Italian occupiers, about 200 Jews from Pristina are relocated to a camp in Berat/Albania.
  • 1943 Italy surrenders on September 8, the Jews return from Berat to Pristina. May 1944 German occupiers in Pristina. The Adizes family is deported to the concentration camp Sajmište near Belgrade.
    June 1944 Interned individuals from the concentration camp Sajmište are transported on one of the last deportation trains of Jews from Yugoslavia to the concentration camp Bergen-Belsen, as hostages to be exchanged for German prisoners of the Allies.
    April 8, 1945 Daughter Flora Levi dies in Bergen-Belsen at the age of 32.
    April 8, 1945 Brother Isaac dies in Bergen-Belsen at the age of 55. His wife Rucula Josifovic dies after liberation in Tröbitz, without a grave.
    April 10, 1945 Avram Adizez and his family, along with about 2500 other prisoners, are on the Lost Transport heading to Theresienstadt.

    April 23, 1945 Liberation of the inmates of the Lost Transport in Tröbitz by the Red Army, among them Avram's and Rajna's children Hajim, Luca, and Jafa.

  • In 1948, Jafa emigrates to Israel, Luca marries in Yugoslavia, and Hajim also remains living in Belgrade until his death (1997).
